Her eyes were wide open as she lied dead still on the platform somewhere deep in the back of Shaw's mind she wanted to skid and run off down the long alien corridor into the main deck of the spacecraft. A month alone isolated searching again for the answers with only David as her companion. A month after the destruction of the Prometheus, a month after the incineration of her husband and partner Dr. Charlie Holloway.

It had been a long tedious month and by that time both Elizabeth and David knew every single detail from the engineers' ship, discovering many of the same technology had both existed and the android could simply replicate without ever thinking much of it.
Shaw's breath was horse as her legs bucked underneath her, sweat pooling from the pours as she had been wrapped into a fresh pair of bandages.  ''I don't see why you have to keep running these procedures David.'' She mumbled wanting to lock eyes with the tall blonde android. ''A little stomach flu is not that bad.'' She added feeling one of her arms placed down to the side once more unaware of her own twitching movements. ''On the contrary Dr. Shaw what could simply be a stomach flu could turn out to be gastric cancer, you've given me the full report of your symptoms and I wanted to run a fully body scan to see if my hypothesis is correct.''  The blonde android muttered tapping multiple colorful holograms depicted in the engineer's language.  A blue light scanned over Shaw's body before David started typing in codes once more.

Closing her mouth Shaw's eyes drifted to the translucent lights paint slowly over her exposed skin feeling a tightness build strong within her chest. A sudden hand was placed on top gazing to see it was David's own hand over hers in a sigh of comfort and newly found trust.  ''What are our cordites for locating the home base?'' Shaw asked instead wondering why David was doing another internal body scan instead both of them on the main deck of the spacecraft mapping out the rest of their journey. ''About year if we're lucky maybe sooner for our destined set of arrival Dr. Shaw.'' David spoke in a calm manner for the first time in twenty minutes the two had finally locked eyes glaring at one another but no hostile emotions coming from either end. ''What is wrong with me?'' the doctor asked in a horse tone. ''Pardon?'' David responded. ''My symptoms David you said you were concerned about my symptoms.'' Shaw clarified pushing some of the red bangs from her eyes. ''The last week since we had entered the NGC 2770 atmosphere you have shown signs of fatigue, dizziness, mood swings, nausea, food cravings.'' David looked directly at Shaw when mentioning of food cravings a silence had swept in before the android continued his observations of the doctor. ''I've come to the conclusion Dr. that you are pregnant again.'' He said soft heartedly tapping on the holograms again the first word that came to Elizabeth's mind was impossible the same words she uttered when she was pregnant with the alien offspring back on LV-223 but pregnant again she did not understand this.

''David…this doesn't make any se-'' ''the last time you had sexual relations was with and only with Dr. Holloway suggests that during conception two fetuses were created with the alien growing at a quicker rate, once it was expelled from your body the apparent human one is now growing inside your womb, you can say it has its own room again.'' He joked.. ''That is not funny I am not pregnant.'' Shaw said trying to sit up a strong ache ran right into the core of her abdomen she cringed only halfway sitting up David secured her grip gently with his hands. ''You said the same thing last time, please Elizabeth I assure you that no danger will come to you or your child.'' David smiled a little removing his hands from Shaw's shoulders.

''And what of the fetus are you sure it is human?'' she asked catching the android's arm as he was about to turn away. ''Positive.'' He nodded to her, Shaw sighed resting her head back down onto the cold platform. ''May I ask you a question?''  David asked turning the scanners off he took a step back fetching Shaw's clothes as he brought them back over to her. ''Yes you may.'' She responded letting him assist her with putting on her clothing David even he covered his eyes when she took off the upper bandages, slipping the shirt over her head she looked back to him. ''Do you plan on keeping the child this time? Or will it bring forth too many painful memories? There's also the matter when we find the Engineer's  homeland danger could man- ''I haven't decided yet but baby or not we will go on to find them.'' Shaw spoke. ''Were so close there's no going back.'' David allowed Shaw to dress the remainder of her time in privacy. ''I know.'' He said walking out the door.

Two weeks later.
Shaw was sitting in one of the engineer's seats looking at the star map she and David looked several times since first operating the ship. The last few days her mind was thrown onto a unstable roller coaster that spilt into many fractions of her thoughts. Gazing at the planets spin before her a non-startling set of feet approached the cockpit as the android made his way in. ''Would you like some solitude?'' David asked he was right behind the chair judging from how loud his voice sounded to Shaw. ''No David, company would be nice actually.'' She responded turning the chair around, the android found a seat a little ways away as he gazed upon the map observing Shaw saw a smile creep its way onto David's lips she noticed this happened specially when the star map appeared before him. ''I wanted inform you that despite everything between us and I mean everything horrible and wretched you've done David, '' he broke his stare from up above to lock eyes with the doctor. ''I have forgiven you.'' He didn't respond right which was very odd for either to see after a moment David's face softened with a tiny smile.

David walked briskly down the long corridor of the ship the soft echoes of water dripping from ceiling had caught his attention when he heard a small muffled cry that peaked his interest. His thought was cut short when he felt the vibration of the ship's movement's change. Waiting he blinked then smiled to himself. ''Were almost there.'' The android said to his own delight. Walking into the cockpit he gazed upon the view of the stars and the oncoming planet that was approaching.

Walking closer he was in awe when he heard the soft cry turn into a coo now. Glancing over his shoulder Shaw had quietly joined his side looking as well with her new born son wrapped protectively into her arms. The android for the moment was more fascinated with this tiny new human than the home planet they were reaching he looked embarrassed when Shaw's met his as she chuckled. ''Yes David?'' Elizabeth asked watching the android stare at the baby who stared back with a look of curiosity as well. ''You have a beautiful son.'' He said surprised he had said that making Shaw just laugh softly again. ''That's a strange but flattering compliant coming from a robot.'' She smiled holding the baby his small hands were trying to reach out almost like he was reaching for David. David's green eyes went still seeing this action. ''Would you like to hold him?'' there was hesitation and almost a childlike fear emitting from off the android he stared between Shaw and the baby for several moments before he reached out slowly taking the infant in his hands, he didn't squirm so much as David had first thought.

Once getting a comfortable grip on him David watched the baby reach with his small hands to touch David's face upon the touch the baby cooed with a smile. ''He likes you.'' Shaw said with a smirk turning her view back to the oncoming base of the engineer's home. While holding onto the infant he did not once say anything just watched the baby interact and learn in his own way that the man holding him wasn't a human but he didn't seem to care. After some time in silence and watching him still David smiled a little before star gazing with Elizabeth.   
''Does he have a name?'' David quietly asked. Shaw didn't look at him as she folded her arms a little answering with a small smile. ''Charlie.''
